Education:
  • Medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1981.
  • Honored with a scholarship at Birmingham General Hospital and the University of Birmingham Hospital in Birmingham, England.
  • Internship in general surgery at Hennepin County Medical Center.
  • Residencies in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Minnesota, the Veteran's Hospital, Hennepin County Medical Center, the Shriner's Hospital and Gillette Children's Hospital.
  • Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Re-certified in 1998.
Research:
  • Outcomes research has been presented at national and international orthopaedic conferences and published in a number of medical journals.
Volunteering:
  • Team physician/consultant for River Falls and Hudson, Wisconsin, high school athletic teams.
  • Active in troop and council leadership in the Boy Scouts of America.
  • Dr. Schneider and his wife, Lauren, were recognized by the U.S. Congress in 2001 as "Angels in Adoption" for their work in stopping adoption-related crimes. Their story inspired a Lifetime Television movie, "Baby for Sale."
