Who are your physicians and what are their specialties?
St. Croix Orthopaedics surgeons are skilled in a variety of orthopaedic
sub-specialties. Please refer to the physicians biographies
for detail explanation.
Tell me more about the surgical procedure / diagnosis.
There is a wealth of information regarding a variety of procedures and diagnosis
under the "Patient Education" tab. Although this is not an extensive list of all
the surgical procedures that the surgeons at St. Croix Orthopaedics perform, it
will give you some general guidelines about each modality.
Is my doctor board certified and what does it mean?
All the physicians at St. Croix Orthopaedics are either certified or in the 2-year
process of being certified. Ten years after initial certification a surgeon must be
re-certified. The following link will explain board certification
and provide information about the rigorous certification process that assures a physician
is qualified.
Do I need a referral to see the physician?
St. Croix Orthopaedics does not require a referral to see the surgeons. However, certain criteria may be specified by your health insurance plan. It is always a good idea to check with your plan regarding requirements prior to making an appointment with the surgeon.
Will I need my current records/films from my Primary Care or referring physician?
If your primary care physician or referring physician is treating you for the same injury that you will be seeing the surgeon about, it is a good idea to get your current records and films prior to your appointment. This will ensure that the surgeon has all the information available to properly diagnosis your injury/illness. Your primary care physician or referring physician may require that you sign for the release of your records or pick them up prior to your appointment.
If I need surgery, what time do I need to be at the facility on the day of surgery?
This will be determined by the facility dependent on the surgical volumes for that particular day. The hospital or surgery center staff will contact you directly with this information.
Where can I get anticipated post-op recovery information?
Under most circumstances, you will be scheduled for a post-operative visit with either a Physician Assistant or with your surgeon after the surgery. If you have any questions or concerns about your post-operative period, please feel free to call 651-439-8807 for further instructions.
How long do I need to be off of work after surgery?
That will be determined by your particular procedure. Please discuss this with your surgeon on your pre-operative appointment to ensure that all your questions are answered. If you employer requires documentation of your procedure, this is best arranged prior to your surgery day.
Who and how do I contact for follow-up care or questions?
The best person to initially contact is the Clinical Assistant associated with your surgeon.
Do you have patient testimonials?
Yes, patient testimonials can be found under the What's New tab
on our website.
