Business Office Questions
How much do you charge for a visit? How much do you charge for a surgical procedure?
What charges are included in the surgical procedure (i.e., hospital costs,
anesthesiology, etc)
The charges that you incur will be dependent on the level of service completed by the
physician, the type of procedure that will be done and/or the number of diagnostic tests
that are necessary for a proper diagnosis. Please call the business office if you would
like an approximate quote or estimate for a procedure that will be done by our surgeons.
It is important to note that this estimate will be for St Croix Orthopaedics services
only and will not include any charges incurred at the hospital or outpatient surgical
facility (i.e., anesthesia, operating room, supplies and/or radiology charges).
Are you considered in-network for my insurance? What insurances do we participate with?
St. Croix Orthopaedics participates with most major insurance plans. As a courtesy
to our patients, we will forward claims to all insurance carriers with the proper
insurance information. Please be aware that some insurance companies have time limitations
on filing claims, so having the most current and accurate information regarding your
health insurance plan is imperative.
Do you preauthorize surgical procedures?
In most cases, we will prior authorize or verify insurance coverage for the surgical
procedure that our surgeons will be performing. However, it is strongly recommended that
you are familiar with your insurance plan and the extent of coverage that is available
under your specific plan design. The policy that you hold is a contract between you and
your insurance company. If you are not familiar with your insurance coverage, we
suggest that you discuss the policy with your employer or insurance company before
charges are incurred.
What if I do not have insurance?
All self-pay (or private pay) patients must contact the business office to make
payment arrangements. A $100 down payment is required at each clinic visit, with payment
in full due within 30 days. If payment arrangements are necessary, our business office
team will be happy to assist you.
Did this claim go to my insurance company?
St. Croix Orthopaedics, P.A. business office will send statements to all patients
that have a balance after their insurance company has processed their charges. Payment
in full is due within 30 days of receipt of your statement. If payment arrangements
are necessary, our business office team will be happy to assist you.
What are the ways that I pay my bill? Do you accept credit cards and which ones?
Can I make a payment by phone?
For your convenience, we accept VISA, Mastercard and Discover for processing payments.
We will be glad to accept the payment over the phone by calling 651-351-2645. Please
have your card available prior to placing the call to expedite the process.
I am confused about my statement. Who do I call to explain my statement or
balance on my account to me?
The Insurance and Business Office Specialist will be happy to assist you with any
questions you may have regarding your bill. They can be reached at 800-423-1088 or
651-351-2645.
Is my paperwork completed? When will it be?
All paperwork should be sent or dropped off to St. Croix Orthopaedics P.A.
administration offices. Please complete all
patient information required with your signature. Incomplete information will be
returned, which will delay the process of completion for you. Under normal circumstances
and with appropriate information, you can expect that your paperwork will be completed
within 7 working days.
