Appointment Questions

At which hospitals do you do surgeries?

St. Croix Orthopaedics is affiliated with seven hospitals and outpatient facilities located throughout the eastern part of the Twin Cities (St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota) and Western Wisconsin. See our Locations tab for more detail regarding each of these facilities.

Do I need to bring anything to my first appointment?

You will be asked to fill out health history form. To assist you at the time of your appointment you may want to bring a list of medications, any previous surgery info, and the dates of those surgeries. If you wish, you may retrieve a health history form from this website, complete it at your home, and bring it with you to your appointment.

  • Copay (Your insurance card will indicate what the copay amount is for your plan.)
  • Insurance card
  • Possibly x-rays or MRIs that have been taken at a facility other than an St. Croix Orthopaedics facility. The Patient Service Representative will let you know when you are making your appointment if this is necessary.

Is my doctor board certified and what does it mean?

All the physicians at St. Croix Orthopaedics are either certified or in the 2-year process of being certified. Ten years after initial certification a surgeon must be re-certified. The following link will explain board certification and provide information about the rigorous certification process that assures a physician is qualified.

What if I do not have insurance?

All self-pay (or private pay) patients must contact the business office to make payment arrangements. A $100 down payment is required at each clinic visit, with payment in full due within 30 days. If payment arrangements are necessary, our business office team will be happy to assist you. For other questions regarding your account, please see the Business Office Frequently Asked Questions.
